ADMISSION TO P.G. COURSE IN
M E Welding Technology programme
Department of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering
M.S. University of Baroda

A two-year Master’s degree programme in Welding Technology is being offered from the year 2006 at the Department of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, M.S. University of Baroda. This is a special, industry-oriented, industry-supported programme sponsored by Larsen & Toubro Ltd., Hazira, Surat Dist.

About 15 students are admitted to this course every year. Around 11of them will be sponsored (by L&T-8, ESAB-2, ADOR-1) –and being paid a scholarship/stipend during the two years of the course and absorbed by Sponsors on successful completion. Regular visits to L&T Works and lectures by L&T experts are an integral part of the programme. Project Work will be arranged at the sponsoring industries.
There will be 4 students not sponsored by any organization and hence not getting a stipend. GATE qualification is not necessary for applying to the programme.
Admission to the above course will be made by M.S. University of Baroda in accordance with usual procedure.  All students, who had successfully completed the B.E. / B.Tech.programme in Metallurgy, Mechanical / Production Engineering or Mechatronics with minimum 55% aggregate, are eligible to apply. Sponsoring industries will also use their own criteria (min.60%) for selecting students for sponsorship.

Prescribed application forms are available at Met. & Mats.Engg. Dept., M.S. University of Baroda OR can be downloaded from the M.S. University website: http://www.msubaroda.ac.in from May 16, 2011   Completed applications along with the prescribed application fees and all necessary certificates and documents asked for should be sent to the Head, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering Dept., Faculty of Tech. &Engg., The M.S. University of Baroda, Baroda or before June 10, 2011.  Short-listed candidates will be called to appear for a selection test / interview at the Dept. of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering on a date June28, 2011.  The selected students have to pay (approx. Rs.3,000) the necessary fees within next few days.  The classes will start from 11th July 2011.

Application forms for admission to M.E.Welding course  are available from Metallurgical & Materials Engg. Dept. Office from 16-5-2011 to 10-6-2011 between 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. by paying Rs. 200/-

All applicants falling under the eligibility criteria  should report for an interview (including sponsorship test, etc.) on 28th June 2011 at 9.00 a.m. at the Department of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Faculty of Technology & Engineering, Kalabhavan, M.S. University of Baroda, Vadodara-3900 001  No separate letter will be issued for calling applicants for interview. 

Please note that the selected students should arrange to pay the fees (approx.3000/-) immediately.  Regular classes will commence on 11th July 2011.

Please note that there will be 15 seats out of which 11 (L &T  8, ESAB Indi –2, ADOR Welding Ltd.- 1) sponsorships  with stipend equal to GATE Fellowship. 

The above selected students under the sponsored category  will be given  job offer after successfully completion of  the course.

Eligibility Criteria:

Students with B.E. (Metallurgy), B.E. (Mechanical / Production) and B.E. (Mechatronics) qualification with minimum 55% aggregate (for sponsorship 60%) from any recognised Institute & University are eligible to apply.

You can download 'Application Form' from above 'http://www.msubaroda.ac.in’ and send the same to undersigned along with DD of Rs. 200/- in favour of 'Dean, Faculty of Technology & Engineering',  payable at Vadodara before last date.

Final year students are also eligible for applying this programme.
