Despite being indispensable to society, degree of recognition given to Indian Welding Industry on national industrial scene is inadequate.
During last four decades a large number of industrial units have been set up for welded fabrication. Some of them have brought about
necessary technological changes. Welding scenario in India is different from that of industrialized countries. Semi-automatic
processes and need for trained manpower are constraints in bringing about changes. The seminar aims to deliberate on these aspects,
subsequently inculcate awareness with respect to welding, identify path to improve productivity and efficiency in welding.
