The Institute of Welding
Established in 1966 with its Headquarters in Kolkata, today the Indian Institute of Welding is the premier professional Institute of the country and the only Indian member of The International Institute of Welding. With 4000 individual & 300 industrial corporate members in India and abroad, IIW operates through 11 branches spread across the country.
National Welding Seminar (NWS 2009-10)
National Welding Seminar is the biggest All India annual event of the institute and NWS 2009-10 aims to provide a dynamic forum for attending professionals from industry, academia & research institutions to share and enhance the knowledge base in the science and technology of welding.

Weld India 2009-10, The 5th International Welding Technology Conference & Exhibition would be concurrently held to provide an opportunity to showcase the state of the art welding & related products to the authors, delegates and visitors.

Call for Papers
Welding technologists, scientists and professionals are invited to present their original work and experience as technical paper(s) on any one of the theme topics mention above. The paper should be based on original work and should not have been presented in any other national or international conferences.
Awards & Honours
IIW awards the authors presenting the best papers in different categories like research, fabrication,
reclamation, automation, non- ferrous welding etc. In addition, IIW honors eminent professionals presenting memorial lectures on contemporary topics.
Pre Conference Tutorial [PCT]
A 2 day pre- conference tutorials will also be held on “Welding Technology and Metallurgy” to be conducted by eminent professionals in the field on 9th & 10th Dec 2009.

Welcome to the world of “Weld India”- The premier international event in India for welding and cutting industry and allied products.

It is being organised for the first time in Kolkata - the Gateway of Eastern India and home for the core sector industries, at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata's premier venue, from 11th to 13th December concurrent with
NWS 2009-10. Substantial investments by the Indian Government has resulted in a demand of 7 million tones of welding materials on a projected consumption of 100 million tonnes of steel.
