The Indian Institute of welding, a national professional body represents the interest of practicing welding professionals from industries, research and development organizations and manufacturers of welding products. The institute has 11 branches covering major industrial belts of the country. IIW, Jamshedpur branch is one of such branches established in the year 1984 to provided support to the industries in the area through consultancy, training program, seminars, lectures and meetings. The branch continuously upgrades the knowledge and skills based on latest developments in the field of welding technology.
This year IIW, Jamshedpur branch is completing 25 years of journey. To celebrate the silver jubilee we are organizing this workshop on 'Welding in core industry'. Welding is one of the key manufacturing processes in any core industry. In the age of technological advancement, there are several new technologies available to cater the manufacturing requirements. Selection of proper technology is vital as each new technology has its own enhanced technical features, efficacy and cost which has significant bearing in the overall value chain. So proper knowledge is a must for adopting such latest technologies and make the best out of it.
